I'm having issues with running Seashore on Snow Leopard. The app opens, but as soon as I try to do anything with any files, it crashes. So my guess is no, it doesn't work, but I haven't tried a reinstall.

I find it works, but it's a lot less stable. In 10.5, Seashore was more stable than Preview, and now in 10.6 that is reversed.
Also, I've noticed it can't open the XCF it saves. I'm starting with TIFFs and adding more layers with more TIFFs, and then saving it as XCF. No go. However, it can save TIFFs properly. I haven't tried other formats.
Other than that, the only problem I have is layers disappearing. The workaround I use is to minimize the window and bring it back again. The layers will reappear.

Oops, I should have said I'm using 0.1.9 for Seashore.

The program starts up alright and seems to work fine.
But I do have a problem.
Cause after every change I make to an image, the colors get lighter / brighter..
For instance after cut and paste a piece within the same image, the colors of the new pasted part don't match anymore, they're slightly brighter than the original..
Anyone else got the same experience?

I read about Seashore this AM in Mac|Life and just downloaded it. My OS X version is Snow Leopard. Most of the time, Seashore has worked opening and editing JPEGs. However, at times is crashes. It won't work with .NEF images (Nikon raw). I hope that the developers can make it totally compatible with S.L. It's much easier to use than GIMP and Photoshop.

Yes, I get the lighter/brighter thing too.

I can also verify the color drifting problem under Snow Leopard (which is why I came here - to see what was being done with that bug). I have not checked with Leopard yet.
I can also verify that I have experienced color value weirdnesses with other drawing programs on OS X (saving, then reloading, and you have a different color), and also when I do my own trivial programming against NSImage/NSBitmapImageRep, so it's obviously something special going on in Cocoa or Quartz that one needs to get a handle on.

I get the same thing - every time I copy part of an image, and I paste it again, the color gets a bit lighter. At least I'm not the only one . . .

I'm running seashore on the newest version of snowleopard (10.6.1) and it's ran perfectly so far. Great free app. I love it!

It automatically dims the background when you copy a new image or layer onto it. When you switch away from the new layer or export the photo it changes back to the normal brightness.
At least that's what happens to me

Seashore works fine for me since several years, but from 10.6 colors lighten when parts of an image is copied and pasted. I tested two colors (on 10.6.1).
#00a79b after copying and pasting becomes #00b9ad .
#909090 after copying and pasting becomes #a1a1a1 .
For me the solution is to use my old computer with 10.3.9.

This also happens to me, It's very frustrating.
There also seems to be a problem in which closing a window in Seashore makes the others stuck in an "inactive" mode until you minimize the window and maximize it again.
